This grape variety most likely originates from Germany and was introduced to South Tyrol around 1900; today it is mainly cultivated in the Eisack Valley. The Sylvaner grape feels particularly at home in the not too high, airy and warm slopes of the central Valle Isarco. The shallow, gravelly, weathered soils give the wine its incomparable delicacy and elegance, which, although reminiscent of the wines of the same name on the other side of the Alps, unmistakably reflects the peculiarity of the Valle Isarco.
