'Three selected single vineyard sites with vines that are almost a century old and thus provide very concentrated and extract-rich grape material form the basis for our Lagrein selection. The vinification takes place entirely in barriques, which gives the Lagrein Porphyry, which owes its name to the bedrock of the vineyards, a multi-faceted and intense nose, but at the same time makes it compact and distinctive on the palate.' Character
Colour: rich, impenetrable ruby red with violet reflections Nose: This Lagrein selection can be described as multi-faceted and extremely intense on the nose, with hints of liquorice, coffee beans, vanilla bean, cloves and black tea, making it both spicy and juicily fruity, with aromas reminiscent of sour cherry and blueberries. Taste: Harmonious on the palate with very compact and concentrated, multi-layered flavours characterised not only by a juicy fruit but also a peppery spiciness as well as a slightly sweet bitter chocolate note rounded off by finely polished tannins.
