You don't drink this wine every day. It needs attention, time to mature and likes to play the leading role: as the crowning glory of a festive table or even as a proud solitaire.
Grape variety: Pinot Noir Site and soil: Mazzon, called 'Mason' by us to avoid confusion with the larger site above Neumarkt. Four hectares are planted with Pinot Nero in this unique site: a south- facing high plateau at 400 - 450 m above sea level, sunny and constantly exposed to the wind. Ideal conditions for the tightly berried Pinot grapes. The soil is sandy loam and interspersed with various stones: Dolomite, porphyry, gneiss and granite can be found from small grains to fist-sized stones. The highest parcel is planted with the oldest vines, from which we select this 'Grand Cru from the Grand Cru' in top vintages.
