Raise the curtain on one of the greats! Below Missian, in the so-called Huberfeld, the Merlot of the same name grows. The deep, chalky alluvial soil and the heat-retaining
environment provide the red wine with what it needs for its intensive, unique characteristics. In addition, the field resembles an amphitheatre of nature, giving Huberfeld the
scenery it deserves!
WINE DESCRIPTION:Aromas of plum and blackcurrant, fine liquorice, slightly spicy. Round tannins and the elegant acid structure support the fruit-driven, long finish.
TERROIR:Warm sites on deep, loamy soils with a high clay content in Unterrain and St. Pauls (250m above sea level).
AGE OF THE VINE:approx. 25 years
READING PERIOD:mid-October
VINIFICATION:Slow fermentation in large wooden barrels followed by maturation on fine yeast in tonneaux for 5-6 months.
STORAGE POTENTIAL:up to 5 years
Serving Suggestions:With meat dishes, wild fowl and mature cheese.
