Lagrein, one of the most typical red wine varieties of South Tyrol and the Bolzano Winery, thrives in the valley floor around Bolzano with high temperature differences
between day and night. For the Prestige Grieser Lagrein Riserva, only selected grapes from the best vineyard sites with low yields are used. The wine presents itself
impenetrable garnet red, with great aromas on the nose and a long, harmonious finish on the palate.
Grape varieties: Lagrein
Growing region/climate: warm, sandy alluvial soils around Gries near Bolzano
Harvest: end of September to mid-October
Vinification: after traditional red wine fermentation in wooden barrels, the young wine matures for about one year in French barriques and in large wooden barrels.
Characteristics
Colour: intense, dark ruby red with violet reflections
Aroma: fruity of ripe cherries, reminiscent of humus, slight hint of vanilla and cocoa
Taste: Powerful and harmonious with supple and elegant tannins.
Goes well with: meat dishes or game and spicy hard cheese
Alcohol: 14 % vol*
Residual sugar: 4.5 g/l*
