The history of Cordon Rouge is inextricably linked to that of Grand Marnier. One day Louis-Alexandre was inspired to create a superior liqueur with Cognac - the finest of spirits and the pride of south-western France since the 17th century. And he decides to combine it with an aromatic essence of orange. It took him more than a decade to create, improve and perfect the liqueur that the world would one day come to know as Grand Marnier Cordon Rouge. It was 1880: the birth year of a myth.
