STEINRAFFLER<br />VIGNA LAGREIN<br /><br />A wanderer between worlds. On the one hand dense and concentrated and almost rustic in a pleasant way, it nevertheless reveals a certain elegance. The colour is deep<br />dark and garnet red with an almost black core. The bouquet reveals a mixture of earthy-mineral and spicy notes. The initially delicate fruit develops increasingly in the glass<br />and is reminiscent of dark, ripe plums. On the palate, the spice components continue, with the finish gaining in complexity due to the mineral notes that emerge once again.<br /><br />This grape variety, unique to South Tyrol, finds very good growing conditions in the vineyards of our Steinraffler winery. Here, in 1990, we planted the short-stemmed Lagrein,<br />a variety that had almost fallen into oblivion in South Tyrol, grafted it onto weak-growing rootstocks and grew it on wire frames. The rebirth of this old, autochthonous red wine<br />variety represents for us a happy combination of tradition and innovation.<br /><br />In South Tyrol, only the 'Vigna' classification guarantees the origin of a site wine.<br /><br />Grape variety: Lagrein<br />Soil: Loam and sandy soils<br />Vinification: After delivery, the destemmed grapes enter the fermentation tank. After a short maceration, the mash is fermented for about 10 days.<br />Maturation: It matures for 15 months in small oak barrels, another 7 months after the assemblage in large oak barrels and at least 12 months in the bottle.<br />Food recommendation: Red meats, game, mild cheeses.<br />

PINOT NERO RISERVA<br />BURGUM NOVUM<br />Name: Burgum Novum is derived from the Latin name of the village of Neumarkt.<br />where the winery was founded in 1969. The line stands for<br />authenticity and rootedness. Since the founding of the winery, the<br />have been known under this name and are the result of elaborate<br />and precise manual work in the vineyard, as well as the traditional vinification<br />vinification in the cellar.<br />The Pinot Nero Riserva grows on mineral-rich clay soils and captivates with its unmistakable<br />its unmistakable berry fragrance.<br />Along with the Chardonnay Riserva, it is one of the top wines of the house of<br />Castelfeder.<br /><br />Excellent with dark meat, game, spicy cheese Aroma of sour cherry and ripe berry fruits, delicate vanilla notes and spicy smoked aromas. Only the Cabernet Sauvignon, which matures later, is fermented<br />separately. The maceration in steel tanks lasts about 10 days, followed by the acid reduction in wooden barrels. The wine matures for 18 months in French oak barriques.<br />Long bottle ageing before the wine goes on sale.<br />Tasting:<br />The Cuvée Kermesse impresses with a strong, intense purple red and with an intense, multi-layered bouquet: spicy with slightly smoky tobacco notes, some pepper and<br />chocolate, fruity with red berries, wild berries and dried figs. LAGREIN<br />RISERVA<br />South Tyrol - Alto Adige DOC<br />TABER<br />Lagrein, one of the most typical red wine varieties of South Tyrol and of the Cantina Bolzano, thrives in the valley floor around Bolzano at high temperatures differentiated<br />between day and night. SOUTH TIROL DOC<br />LAGREIN RISERVA<br />VINEYARD KLOSTERANGER<br /><br />Our historic single vineyard: expressive, concentrated and straightforward.<br />IN THE VINEYARD<br />This Lagrein thrives at an altitude of 280 m in the middle of Gries. The historic vineyard is part of the monastery complex, where the vines stand on pure alluvial material from<br />the Talfer and a subsoil of Bolzano quartz porphyry. IN THE CELLAR<br />After fermentation and acid reduction in stainless steel, the wine is aged in new barrique barrels for 22 months, followed by harmonisation in enamelled steel tanks and<br />careful bottling after light filtration.<br />TASTING NOTES<br />The Klosteranger appears in deep garnet red and seduces with a bouquet of concentrated aromas. It is surprisingly lively and fruity on the nose with notes of coffee and<br />black berries as well as a hint of raspberries. On the palate, it convinces with grippy tannins, fresh acidity, delicate as well as elegant fullness and depth. Our single-vineyard<br />Lagrein is wonderfully complex, long-lasting and pampers the palate with a multi-layered structure. Best enjoyed well-tempered with braised game dishes, tenderly roasted<br />beef or spicy cheese dishes. Optimal drinking pleasure within 10 years.Alcohol: 13.50 % vol.
