Worthy Park 2007 70 cl /...

Type: Pure Single Rum
Raw material: Molasses
Fermentation: Selected yeasts
Production method: Pot Still distillation
Ageing: Tropical
Box: Yes

Why it's different

Worthy Park 2007 is a bottling of the WPL brand, with congeners between 60 and 119 g / hLAP. Distilled in 2007 from molasses from the Worthy Park Estate's sugar cane
mill. It is a Pure Single Rum aged in the distillery's tropical climate warehouse and was bottled at 59% full cask grade, with an angel's share after 10 years of 64%. The label
shows the copper double retort still made by Scottish Forsyths for Worthy Park Distillery. No sugar, caramel or additives are added at bottling.
How to drink it

Drink it straight, letting it breathe, possibly with water to have a slight dilution at will. It can be used in blending as a 'cut' to enrich any type of classic rum-based cocktail.
Focus

Worthy Park 2007 Habitation Velier is the first bottling that bears the name of the Jamaican distillery on the label, different from the previous editions that were called
'Forsyths', inspired by the double retort copper still used for the production of all Worthy Park Estate rums. Worthy Park allocates part of its production to 'bulk' marketing,
rums which are then destined for blended rums or for selections of independent bottlers, provided that the name of the distillery is not put on their labels. The project carried
out in collaboration with Luca Gargano is not a simple independent bottling project. On the contrary, we could consider it 'dependent bottling', since the labels highlight the
fundamental points of production, such as the origin of the molasses, the type of still, the year of distillation and bottling, the percentage of angel's share, the mark,
specifying the level of esters and congeners as well as, of course, the fact that ageing takes place in a tropical climate at the distillery, information that is not usually
declared in independent bottling, since barrels are always purchased through rum merchants and never directly from the distillery. After the first editions, Worthy Park
allowed Luca to use the official name of the distillery, so from the 2007 release the name Worthy Park will always appear on the label.
Hampden Estate OWH 8 Y.O....

Hampden Estate OWH 8 Y.O....

Type: Pure Single Rum
Raw material: Molasses
Fermentation: Indigenous yeasts
Production method: Pot Still distillation
Ageing: Tropical

Why it's different

From what could be considered the best distillery in the world, Hampden Estate 8 Years Old is made from the single mark 'OWH' bottled without any additives, no
colouring agents, but above all no added sugar, and aged 8 years in the distillery's wherehouse. All Hampden Estate rums are bottled with no added artifacts.

How I drink it
Enjoy neat, on the rocks, in simple cocktails such as Hampden & Pineapple or diluted with ginger beer. Excellent to wash down a baba, drizzled over a soft, well-vanillaised
sponge cake or dunked into dry biscuits such as canestrelli.

Focus
Hampden Estate could be considered the best distillery in the world, located in the northwest of Jamaica, in Trelawny County. This claim is based on objective
considerations for the production process of this rum, 5 fundamental pillars:
1) the water used in all stages of production comes from a source a few kilometres from the distillery in the pristine area of Cockpit Country.
2) fermentation is spontaneous, using natural yeasts and ancestral techniques, to produce High Ester rums that are characterised by their aromatic richness.
3) distillation is 100% in Pot Still. Hampden Estate remains one of the very few distilleries in the world to use only discontinuous double retort copper pot stills - there are
currently four, one of which, legendary, was installed in 1960, produced by John Dore, with a capacity of 7600 litres and a marvellous swan neck reminiscent of a trunk,
which has earned it the name 'The Elephant' - the distillation cycle lasts about 7 hours with an alcoholic degree at the exit of the still of 82°.
4) Ageing takes place in a tropical climate in the Hampden Estate warehouse, where climatic conditions lead to very high angel share - in fact 7 years of ageing corresponds
to around 25 years in a continental climate.
5) No added sugar or caramel.

The climatic factor is one of the fundamental elements of the Trelawny terroir. OWH is one of the many marks produced by the Hampden Estate. It is made up of the initials
of Outram Warmold Hussey, father of Lawrence Francis Close Hussey who took over the Hampden Estate with his family in 2009. Of the eight different expressions
produced for tasting rums, it is the one with the lowest level of esters. It is a rum that has a range of esters that fluctuates around 80/120 gr/hlap and belongs to the category
of Jamaican rums defined as 'Common Clean', those that, according to the Jamaican Spirits Pool, have a level of esters that can vary on average between 80 and 150
gr/hlap. Nevertheless, the level of aromatic richness of a quality Common Clean rum is far higher than that of any other modern rum distilled with multi-column distillation
equipment. That's the magic of Hampden Estate rum, a distillate that thanks to ancestral techniques has a recognisable and unique taste. OWH is one of the most recent
marks, born from the idea of creating a lighter rum than the historic marks that have been aged since that year.
Rhum Rhum Blanc Marie...

Rhum Rhum Blanc
Rhum Rhum Marie Galante

70 cl / 41 °
Typology: Pure Single Rhum Agricole
Raw material: Pure cane juice
Fermentation: Own selected yeasts
Method of production: Pot Still distillation
Box: Yes
Why it is different

Rhum Rhum Blanc 41 ° is the Pure Single Agricole Rhum produced from an ancient variety of sugar cane, the Rouge B47.259, almost disappeared from the Antilles. Once
perfectly ripe, the canes are cut by hand with traditional 'coutelas' and transported to the distillery on 'cabrouets' pulled by bulls. The freshly pressed juice is not diluted, as
is usual in the production of rhum agricoles; fermentation takes place in open vats at a controlled temperature and lasts up to 5/6 days. After distillation there is a long
period of rest in steel vats, lasting up to a year, during which the alcohol content is slowly lowered. Rhum Rhum Blanc is bottled at 41°.

How I drink it:
Rhum Rhum Blanc 41° is very pleasant in the classic Ti' Punch with a very small addition of sugar. Excellent for classic cocktails such as the Mary Pickford.

Focus:
In the mid-2000s, Luca Gargano realised a dream he had nurtured for years, that of producing the best rum in the world. To do so, he enlisted the help of maestro Gianni
Vittorio Capovilla and together they chose the enchanting island of Marie Galante, where at the time the best possible terroir could be found in the Caribbean. A first still was
installed at the Bielle distillery in 2005 and the second in 2007: two Müller bain-marie stills with a capacity of 300 and 1200 litres. The fresh, undiluted cane juice ferments
slowly in stainless steel cuves.
Monkey Shoulder smokey 40°...

Monkey Shoulder Smokey
Monkey Shoulder Scotland

70 cl / 40 °
Typology: Blended Scotch Whisky
Raw material: Barley malt
Production method: Pot Still distillation
Aging: Continental
Casing: No

Why it's different:
Monkey Shoulder is the only whisky made from 100% malt by combining three Speyside single malts, all from a small batch production, assembling relatively small barrel
lots. It is a William Grant & Sons family whisky, born with the desire to create a modern and revolutionary whisky in the world of mixology.

Smokey Monkey Shoulder is the peaty variant of the triple blend.

How I drink it:
Versatile and designed for mixology, it is also great to drink pure to bring the public closer to the world of whisky, thanks to the smoothness of its vanilla notes.

Focus:
The name Monkey Shoulder refers to the physical condition that malt men often suffered after years of hard work turning barley mounds by hand during the germination
phase. This gave them a deformed limb holding the spade, causing it to hang downwards, like a monkey's posture.
