The nose shows<br />notes of tropical fruit accompanied by a vegetality and minerality that enhance the finesse and elegance with a very communicative impact that induces salivation stimulating<br />the taste. On the palate it is rich with an exquisitely sweet attack followed by perfectly balanced acidity and flavour, and finally the fruity and mineral notes return. Time is a precious commodity: it takes at least 84 months on the<br />lees to transfer the complex history of the vintage, the identity of the vineyard and the characteristics of the variety into the wine. It is an extra brut with a dosage of about 3<br />g/l. The enveloping taste and structure are merited by the quality of the grapes from old vines and the ripeness of the fruit. 2018 CHATEAU CROIX MOUTON 'BORDEAUX SUPERIEUR'<br />THE YEAR.<br />The M printed on the label of this fine-tasting and fleshy Bordeaux Supérieur wine marks the personality and particularities of each vintage and changes colour every year.<br />This cuvée from Château Croix Mouton, which dominates the Dordogne, is made exclusively from Merlot, the emblematic grape variety of the right bank of the Garonne, and<br />has a deep ruby red colour with beautiful shiny reflections. On the palate, small, acidic red fruits (mainly red plum, cherry) follow one another. On the palate it is full-bodied<br />and juicy, full of charming finesse. This wine is best appreciated when young, when its fruity bouquet shows all its vivacity.<br />THE CHÂTEAU CROIX MOUTON ESTATE<br />Château Croix Mouton is located in the town of Lugon on the right bank of the Bordeaux River and covers almost 70 hectares of vines. It is owned by the Janoueix family and<br />thrives on the clayey soil of Carney Island. The 2019 grape varieties focus on Merlot (96%), complemented by Cabernet Franc (2.5%), Malbec (1%) and Petit Verdot (0.5%).<br />The vines are on average 38 years old. The planting density is about 3,600 to 6,000 vines per hectare.<br />The work in the vineyard is meticulous and includes tillage, grassing, thinning and some leaf thinning. After sorting at harvest, vinification takes place in concrete and<br />stainless steel tanks with openings and regular puncturing. Fermentation takes place under temperature control (maximum 26-27 °C). The maturation period is between<br />three weeks and one month. Maturation lasts between three and four months on the fine lees in barrels (20%) and in vats with or without wood (80%).<br />The top Bordeaux produced by the estate are pleasant, fruity wines that tend to be drunk at a young age. Gourmet and fleshy wines that are also quite accessible.<br />

Pomino Bianco Riserva DOC<br /><br />'On the road to Pomino I am thrilled every time I discover this unique corner of Tuscany: hills and cypresses suddenly give way to steep slopes, cooler temperatures in<br />summer and snow in winter, magnificent forests of firs and centuries-old sequoias surrounding the vineyards of Chardonnay, planted here since 1855. At an altitude of 700<br />metres, the Cru Benefizio, the first white wine in Italy fermented and aged in barriques, was born in 1973.'<br /><br />Climatic trend<br />The 2021 season will be remembered as a dynamic vintage. After a rainy and mild winter, which had led to a slight advance in budding, temperatures dropped sharply at the<br />beginning of April, slightly slowing the growth of the buds. From May onwards, temperatures began to rise again, leading to a summer that will be remembered for both the<br />beautiful day-night temperature range and the long period of intense heat. The grapes presented themselves at harvest in a perfect state of health, thanks to the mild<br />temperatures and low humidity.<br /><br />Vinification and ripening<br />The Benefizio vineyard is located at an altitude of 700 m above sea level, with a southern exposure and predominantly sandy soil. The Chardonnay grapes were harvested in<br />boxes by hand with extreme care and attention. Once they arrived in the cellar, the pressing they underwent was extremely soft and gentle, allowing a good extraction of<br />clear must, which was further clarified after cold decantation. The musts thus obtained were placed in barriques, 50% new and 50% first-passage, where they underwent<br />alcoholic fermentation and only partially malolactic fermentation. Subsequently, the wine matured in wood, on the lees, with bâtonnage carried out as required. After further<br />bottle ageing, Benefizio Riserva reached its maximum taste-olfactory expression in terms of elegance and harmony.<br /><br />Tasting notes<br />Elegance, expressiveness and body. Benefizio 2021 presents a wonderful straw yellow colour with golden highlights. The bouquet is varied, presenting hints of white fruit<br />such as pear, exotic fruit notes such as mango, banana and pineapple and more citrus notes of candied citron. The citrus sensation is also picked up by hints of orange<br />blossom. On the palate it is savoury and mineral, with an elegant and harmonious finish; the aromatic intensity perceived on the palate is amplified by the alcohol content<br />and the aftertaste of dried fruit. Prolonged maceration with the skins lasts<br />up to 2 days to extract colour, aroma and density in the mouth. Malolactic fermentation takes place in new barrels and stainless steel tanks, depending on the parcels and<br />their origin.<br />COLOUR: Deep and luminous red.<br />BOUQUET: A bouquet with beautiful notes of toasted wood and spices, combined with liquorice-based candied red fruits.<br />FLAVOUR: Full-bodied on the palate with a background of ripe fruit and elegant, soft tannins. A long silky aftertaste.<br />AGEING: Once the process is complete, the wines are aged in barrels and racked every 6 months. For 12 months they are aged in French (6%) and American (4%) oak<br />barrels. Maturation in bottles for at least one year before marketing.<br />

TYPE OF WINE: Red wine AOC Corbières<br />PRODUCTION AREA: The estate is nestled in the rugged hills just behind the Mediterranean coast of Narbonne, in the south of France.<br />GRAPE VARIETIES: Syrah 36%, Grenache noir 35%, Mourvèdre 12%, Carignan 9%, Alicante-henri-bouschet 8%.<br />VINIFICATION: made according to the traditional method. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel and concrete tanks. During<br />fermentation, the wine is regularly pumped to allow gentle extraction of the tannins. Once fermentation is complete, the wine is left untouched for a couple of days. The total<br />maceration time is 15-2 days.<br />COLOUR: ruby red<br />BOUQUET: Pure, sunny bouquet with notes of flint and graphite. These aromas are mixed with scents of thyme, black truffle, a little liquorice and eucalyptus.<br />FLAVOUR: The palate has the same mineral character, but on a slightly different register (mentholated verbena, sage, laurel). Secondary notes (from fermentation) of<br />blackcurrant and blueberry jam and a hint of fruit brandy, a sign of the beginning of a very harmonious evolution. The tannins are well integrated, giving the wine a perfectly<br />balanced structure.<br />
