VINTAGE 2022<br />An excellent vintage 2022 is awaiting you! As a result of the warm, stable summer, grapes of the very best health and with balanced values have reached our cellar. The<br />2022 wine year began with a warm spring, which led to an early start of flowering. The succeeding summer was consistently dry and warm-to-hot by the midsummer. The<br />drought did not cause any problems, not at least thanks to our irrigation systems and smart technology. The warm summer months have resulted in extraordinarily healthy<br />grapes of very good quality and maturity. The acidity values were somewhat lower due to the vintage, but well balanced and were supported by targeted foliage work during<br />the summer months, and a slightly earlier harvest. The first grapes were harvested at the end of August - as always entirely by hand. Overall, the wines show complexity,<br />great structure and very good fruit.<br /><br />VINIFICATION<br />Very carefully selected, fully ripe grapes get selected, picked in two harvests. Before pressing, the crushed berries are cold macerated for 6 hours, after which the juice is<br />clarified by refrigeration and natural sedimentation. Fermentation is activated using selected yeasts and the temperature is controlled at 18°C. The grapes used to produce this finely aromatic Asti spumante come from Moscato bianco vineyards on soil rich in limestone. The continuous 'perlage' and persistent foam<br />are a prelude to the ample and intense perfume reminiscent of orange blossom and sage. The sweet and inviting flavour is tempered by a stimulating acidity. Ideal with<br />dessert, the wine of the party, as an aperitif and for any other occasion to remember.<br /><br />TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION:<br />Vineyard exposure: east-south to south-west, with rows oriented to take full advantage of the sun's action on leaves and bunches.<br />Soil composition: clayey-tufaceous soil rich in limestone, which enhances the finesse and aromaticity of the wines, very important for this grape variety.<br />Vine density: nr. 4000/5000 vines per hectare from 5 to 40 years.<br />Type of training: low plant with simple guyot, tending to bring the leafy part upwards, in order to expose the bunches to the sun's action and encourage photosynthesis on<br />the leaves. Stoan is a unique wine that reflects the richness and potential of our terroir. A lively blend of Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Pinot Blanc and Gewürztraminer, the brainchild of our<br />winemaker.<br /><br /><br />Description of the vintage: After a dry winter and an initially cold March, above-average spring temperatures favoured early budding and early flowering. From mid-May to<br />early June the weather was mainly rainy and wet. In the later maturation phase, rainfall was normal, with few heat peaks and concomitant short dry periods. Throughout the<br />summer the nights were characterised by pleasant coolness. Harvesting began in early September and until mid-October was interrupted repeatedly by single days of rain,<br />fortunately alternating with prolonged periods of sunshine. The white wines are fresh, with an intense olfactory profile. Description: very intense fruity notes reminiscent of elder, acacia flowers and sage; combined with fine wood aromas; a wine with pithy acidity and a persistent finish.<br />Ageing potential: 6-10 years.<br />Recommended food: Ideal accompaniment to herb and fish dishes. Spicy white meat dishes and fresh cheese.<br />Serving temperature: 12 - 14° C.<br />Grape variety: Sauvignon blanc.<br />Sites: The vineyards are located on a rather dry site with optimal sun exposure and a sandy, gravelly moraine soil.<br />Vinification: After a short maceration period, the fully ripe grapes are gently pressed. Half of the must ferments in stainless steel vats while the remaining part is matured in<br />wooden barrels/barriques. Only this second part undergoes partial malolactic fermentation. On the palate, these fruity impressions continue, while the wine still has a fine acidity that never<br />makes it seem too lush despite its concentration. A Gewürztraminer that can convince with aromatic length.<br /><br />This Gewürztraminer is a selection from the best vineyards of our Kolbenhof estate in Söll / Tramin. Thanks to the special microclimate, the ideal orientation and the age of<br />its vines, the Kolbenhof estate is one of the great cru sites for South Tyrolean Gewürztraminer. TYPE: Valle de Colchagua DO - ' Cabernet '.<br /><br />PRODUCTION AREA: Colchagua Valley - Peralillo<br /><br />VINE: Cabernet Sauvignon 100%.<br /><br />SOIL TYPE: Soil of volcanic origin, made up of sandy-clayey soil and granite sand.<br /><br />AGE OF THE VINEYARDS: at the beginning of the '90s important replanting works were carried out, the vineyard is subdivided into two parts: the first one is in the middle of<br />the vineyard and the second one is in the middle of the vineyard.<br /><br />VINIFICATION: vinification is carried out according to the traditional Bordeaux method. The grapes are placed in stainless steel tanks for fermentation at a controlled<br />temperature between 25° and 27°C. This is followed by 10-15 days of maceration, during which several repassings are carried out to allow a delicate extraction of the<br />phenolic compounds. The wine is then left to mature for three months in stainless steel tanks to obtain its unique fruity style.<br /><br />COLOUR: intense ruby red<br /><br />BOUQUET: in addition to the typical and varietal herbaceous notes, which are otherwise fine and elegant, the nose displays hints of plums, cherries and small red fruits,<br />followed by spicy and vanilla nuances.<br /><br />PAIRINGS: Perfect with savoury first courses and grilled red meats, this wine is ideal with mature cheeses.
