Grape variety: 100% Chardonnay.<br /><br />Vinification: Selection of grapes, chilling and soft pressing of 7 crus, fermentation in 300 L French oak barrels and ageing 'sur lies' for 12 months, with weekly<br />bâtonnages. Barriques used 50% new and 50% second passage. Bottle-ageing for 12 months.<br /><br />Sensory notes: straw yellow with golden reflections. Intense and complex on the nose, with aromas of white fruit, hazelnut, vanilla, banana and candied citron and mineral<br />and spicy nuances. The palate is dense and rich, with an elegant and harmonious finish.<br /><br />Serving temperature: 13/15 °C<br /><br />Pairings: foie gras, tagliolini with truffles, fillet in a hazelnut crust, fondue from Valle d'Aosta.<br /><br />Curiosity: Our Chardonnay Cuvée Bois at the top of national and international quality is recognised for its elegance and style. The 2023 winegrowing year was characterized by changeable weather and the resulting increased work in the vineyard. A snow-deficient winter and a warm March<br />accelerated the start of vegetation. A typical April and a rainy May led to flowering close to the long-term average. June was unstable, with heat waves and drought. July<br />brought a lot of rain coupled with some very hot days. Despite extreme temperature fluctuations in August, a golden autumn brought us a successful grape harvest with very<br />good grape qualities overall.<br />Tasting notes: bright yellow, fruity aroma of ripe peach, mango and coconut milk, full mouthfeel with lots of ripe fruit on the palate, juicy finish.<br /><br />Recommendation: try it as an aperitif, with light starters, summer salads, asparagus dishes, grilled fish or with mild sliced and fresh cheeses!<br /><br />Vinification: Whole cluster pressing of ripe and above all perfectly healthy grapes, 18-hour maceration, natural must clarification, slow fermentation at a controlled<br />temperature of 18 °C (approx. 50% spontaneous fermentation in large wooden barrels), 5-month ageing on the fine lees, filtration and bottling in March.<br /><br />Vineyard:Steep south/south-western slope at 700 m above sea level with sandy-loamy porphyry weathered soil.<br /><br />Grape variety: Kerner<br />Age of the vines: 10 - 30 years<br />Drinking temperature: 10 - 12 °C<br />Yield: 65 hl/ha<br />Method of cultivation: wire frame + pergola<br />Alcohol: 14,5 %<br />Residual sugar: 4,3 g/l<br />Acidity: 6,1 g/l<br />Contains sulphites<br />

SOUTH TIROL DOC<br />LAGREIN RISERVA<br />VINEYARD KLOSTERANGER<br /><br />Our historic single vineyard: expressive, concentrated and straightforward.<br />IN THE VINEYARD<br />This Lagrein thrives at an altitude of 280 m in the middle of Gries. The historic vineyard is part of the monastery complex, where the vines stand on pure alluvial material<br />from the Talfer and a subsoil of Bolzano quartz porphyry. IN THE CELLAR<br />After fermentation and acid reduction in stainless steel, the wine is aged in new barrique barrels for 22 months, followed by harmonisation in enamelled steel tanks and<br />careful bottling after light filtration.<br />TASTING NOTES<br />The Klosteranger appears in deep garnet red and seduces with a bouquet of concentrated aromas. It is surprisingly lively and fruity on the nose with notes of coffee and<br />black berries as well as a hint of raspberries. On the palate, it convinces with grippy tannins, fresh acidity, delicate as well as elegant fullness and depth. Our single-<br />vineyard Lagrein is wonderfully complex, long-lasting and pampers the palate with a multi-layered structure. Best enjoyed well-tempered with braised game dishes, tenderly<br />roasted beef or spicy cheese dishes. Optimal drinking pleasure within 10 years.Alcohol: 14.00 % vol.
