SOUTH TIROL DOC<br />LAGREIN RISERVA<br />VINEYARD KLOSTERANGER<br /><br />Our historic single vineyard: expressive, concentrated and straightforward.<br />IN THE VINEYARD<br />This Lagrein thrives at an altitude of 280 m in the middle of Gries. The historic vineyard is part of the monastery complex, where the vines stand on pure alluvial material<br />from the Talfer and a subsoil of Bolzano quartz porphyry. IN THE CELLAR<br />After fermentation and acid reduction in stainless steel, the wine is aged in new barrique barrels for 22 months, followed by harmonisation in enamelled steel tanks and<br />careful bottling after light filtration.<br />TASTING NOTES<br />The Klosteranger appears in deep garnet red and seduces with a bouquet of concentrated aromas. It is surprisingly lively and fruity on the nose with notes of coffee and<br />black berries as well as a hint of raspberries. On the palate, it convinces with grippy tannins, fresh acidity, delicate as well as elegant fullness and depth. Our single-<br />vineyard Lagrein is wonderfully complex, long-lasting and pampers the palate with a multi-layered structure. MECZAN PINOT NOIR<br /><br />The Meczan is a very varietal Pinot Noir, which is characterised above all by its softness, its distinctive fragrance and its clear fruity character.<br />It has a vivid ruby red colour with slight garnet reflections. Fresh, animating bouquet with seductive notes of wild berries and cherries.<br />On the palate, the Meczan presents itself very harmonious and distinctly juicy with intense fruit notes.<br /><br />Pinot Noir was first successfully cultivated in Trentino-South Tyrol at the beginning of the 19th century.<br />It soon became apparent that the gentle hills and the special microclimate of the high plateau in Mazon offered the ideal conditions for producing Pinot Noir of international<br />calibre.<br />Meczan<br />Hofstätter Classification<br /><br />Grape variety<br /><br />Pinot Noir<br />Soil<br /><br />Conglomerate of clay, limestone and porphyry soils.<br />Vinification<br /><br />75% of the grapes are destemmed, 25% enter the fermentation tank intact. Trento d.o.c. blanc de blancspas dosè<br />It is the unceasing work of numerous sparkling wine producers who strongly believe in the territory and in the quality of a unique wine: producing a Trentodoc sparkling<br />wine is a precious art, a vocation, a skill.<br /><br />The skilful hands of Marchesi Guerrieri Gonzaga have given life to a new expression of their savoir faire with Trentodoc sparkling wine, a tribute to the mountains of<br />Trentino where it originates.<br />Marchesi Guerrieri Gonzaga sparkling wine is a Blanc de Blancs Pas Dosè. It is made from 100% Chardonnay grapes cultivated in the Pressano hills at an altitude of 400<br />metres, on marly-calcareous soils that produce structured wines, and in the upper Cembra valley at an altitude of between 400 and 700 metres on sandy soils of porphyry<br />origin, where more floral wines are produced, with a marked acidity and great freshness. The harvest is carried out exclusively by hand between the last ten days of August<br />and the first days of September. The grapes are immediately processed and fermentation is carried out exclusively in stainless steel at a controlled temperature. The wine<br />remains for at least 8 months on its yeasts, which give it complexity before being bottled. It then remains for a minimum of 36 months in refinement where the magic of the<br />wine comes to life. Finally, after disgorging, it rests a further 6 months in the silence of the cellars. The blend of these grapes from such different vineyards gives rise to an<br />extremely elegant and vertical sparkling wine with a strong identity, a tribute to the wonderful mountains of Trentino.<br />

Grape varieties<br /><br />Goldmuskateller (Golden Muscat)<br /><br />Location & soil<br /><br />Mareit Leiten, 350 m elevation, very steep, southfacing slope with extremely long exposure to the sun and warm gravelly soil with moraine deposits. Vogelleiten und<br />Panholzer with clay-limestone gravel soil.<br /><br />Vintage<br /><br />2023 was a challenging year with climatic conditions that were anything but easy. Through hard work and meticulous attention to detail, we ultimately achieved great results.<br />Our vines coped well with both the wet spring and the hot and dry summer, and the golden autumn helped us achieve perfect ripeness. Physiolog-ical ripeness, sugar<br />ripeness and acidity are in perfect balance. Ripe fruit, cool character and moderate alcohol characterise the vintage.<br />The Golden Muscat grapes were left on the vines until the end of September for perfect maturity. The berries were a golden yellow, the aroma highly intense. At 55 hl per<br />hectare, the yield was low.<br /><br />Winemaking<br /><br />Grapes were de-stemmed and left to macerate in the press for twelve hours to enrich the juice with aroma substances and body leached from the skins. Fermentation took<br />place in oak and stainless steel tanks, partially with yeasts naturally occurring in the vineyard. Pinot Nero Ludwig 2021<br />Alto Adige DOC<br />The long history of the Pinot Nero in Alto Adige has accompanied the development of the wine region.<br />Elena Walch's Pinot Nero 'Ludwig' was created with the 2001 vintage, from grapes of old vines, some of<br />which were even planted as Pergola. The small production of 10,000 bottles indicates the strict selection of<br />the plots to produce a classic, complex Pinot Nero of the highest quality. The many national and<br />international awards for Pinot Nero 'Ludwig', including the highest award of the 12th and 19th Italian Pinot<br />Nero Competition in 2013 and 2020, confirm the winemaker's great commitment to this noble grape variety.<br />The Pinot Noir Ludwig presents itself with a full ruby red color and with elegant concentration and<br />complexity. Fresh fruit notes of heart cherries and redcurrants as well as the spicy hint of pepper and elegant<br />roasted notes characterize the bouquet. On the palate, the wine unfolds its full power and elegance with gripping<br />tannins, a filigree structure and harmonious interplay between subtle spice and elegant freshness - with inviting<br />length and great aging potential<br />VINTAGE 2021<br />We are excited about a qualitatively excellent vintage, especially for our white wines! A dry and<br />cool spring led to a late flowering of the vines and was followed by a warm and dry June. After<br />an irregular midsummer, a surprising change in the weather followed in mid-August, which<br />brought dream weather until the end of September and the very best conditions for achieving<br />an optimal maturity of the grapes. The harvest began in mid-September, about 10 days later<br />than last year. With blue skies and lots of sunshine, midsummer daytime temperatures and<br />autumnally cool nights, the grapes were able to achieve ideal sugar levels while maintaining very<br />good acidity. Accordingly, the 2021 wines show great quality!<br />VINIFICATION<br />Traditional fermentation, partially in large Slovenia<br />oak vats, partially in stainless steel tanks. Malolactic<br />fermentation follows and, the final wine matures in<br />French oak barrels for another 12 months. Since<br />2015, a state-of-the-art fermentation cellar has<br />allowed the grapes to be processed with the utmost<br />care, with whole-grape processing using via gravity<br />fed technology. A highly sensitive destemmer and the<br />gentle transport of the grapes by means of a<br />specialized container, cuvon, which runs on rails, prove to be very gentle on the grapes and<br />preserve their high quality.
