Nipozzano Chianti DOCG...

Nipozzano Chianti DOCG...

Nipozzano Riserva 2016
Chianti Rufina Riserva DOCG

The emblematic wine of Castello Nipozzano, the historic Frescobaldi estate located a few miles north-east of Florence, Nipozzano Riserva is symbolic of the Tuscan wine-
making tradition and the continuing link with the terroir.

Climatic trend: the 2016 season at Castello Nipozzano is a splendid vintage. Spring arrived slightly late and was cool, marked by abundant precipitation, especially during
the flowering period. Conversely the summer was mild, with very little rainfall from the end of June until harvest. August enjoyed high temperatures and was sunny on the
whole.

Wine Variety: Sangiovese and complementary varieties
Alcohol content: 13%
Maturation: barriques - 24 months

Vinification and ageing: harvest took place in the first few days of September. As soon as the grapes were harvested, they were taken to the cellar. Once de-stemmed, the
natural fermentation process began in thermo-regulated stainless steel vats. The wine remained in the vats to complete maceration. After racking, malolactic fermentation
took place in steel as well. At the end of the year, the wine was transferred into barriques, where it was aged for a further 24 months. A further period in the bottle brought
Nipozzano 2016 to its full expression as a wine with exceptional balance.

Tasting notes: Nipozzano 2016 boasts the characteristics of this superb vintage with strength and finesse. Its intense ruby red colour gives it a bold and elegant character.
Red berries and notes of ripe citrus fruit give way to a delicately fruity nose, followed by elegant notes of violet. This is all completed with a slight spiciness. The palate
expresses itself with an intriguing, harmonious complexity. Nipozzano 2016 is dense and persistent.

Awards
JamesSuckling.Com: 92 Points
Wine Advocate: 92 Points
IGT Il Blu Brancaia 2018 750ml

IGT Il Blu Brancaia 2018 750ml

Description: Since its debut in 1988, IL BLU has been the result of our constant search for perfection. Made from only the best hand-picked and selected grapes from our
two Chianti estates, with fine tannins and a soft, full finish, this wine is distinguished by its complexity and elegance. Today, thanks to the ever-improving complexity of our
Merlot grapes, especially from our vineyards in Radda in Chianti, it is a blend of 80% Merlot and 10% each of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon. Each individual variety is
aged separately in barriques, two-thirds new, for 18 months. Then, once assembled, the final blend matures in unglazed cement vats for 3 months. In this way the wine
becomes more balanced, the tannins and aromas are better integrated even before the one-year bottle ageing. We continue to work constantly to improve this wine, while
taking great care to preserve its identity. The character and style of IL BLU have been marked by continuity over all these years: something we intend to carry on for the next
30 years.

Appellation: IGT Rosso Toscana

Grape varieties 80% Merlot 10% Sangiovese 10% Cabernet Sauvignon

Vineyards and terroir: vineyards Castellina in Chianti, Radda in Chianti

Altitude and exposure: 230 - 400 m a.s.l.; S-SO exp.

Soil Castellina in Chianti: clayey; Radda in Chianti: medium-textured, rich in stones

Climate and microclimate Continental climate, with cold winters (temperatures below 0° C) and very hot summers.
Vinification and refinement: Harvest 08.09.18 - 04.10.18

Analytical Data
Alcohol content: 14,5%; total acidity: 5,80%.
Fermentation temperature 28°.
Skin contact Up to 18 days
Maturation in barrels 18 months, 2/3 in new French oak barrels, 1/3 in second passage French oak barrels, further 3 months in cement tanks
Bottle ageing At least 12 months
First vintage produced 1988
Evolutionary potential Up to 25 years

Aromas of currants, violets and cocoa. TYPE: Molise DOC Aglianico Riserva - ' Contado '.
PRODUCTION AREA: vineyard Contrada Camarda ( Pesaro ). Altitude 200 mt. Southeast exposure
VINE: Aglianico 100%.
TYPE OF SOIL: calcareous clay.
AGE OF THE VINEYARDS: average age 22 years.
VINIFICATION: in small steel fermenters with long maceration.
VINEYARD SYSTEM: espalier.
COLOUR: ruby red with garnet reflections.
BOUQUET: wide and intense bouquet with hints of ripe fruit.
PAIRINGS: goes well with savoury food, hearty first courses, game, meat and mature cheeses, also with vegetarian dishes such as stewed vegetables, legumes, baked
vegetable dishes such as aubergine parmigiana or vegetable soufflé.
TASTE: Soft and velvety in the mouth, very harmonious with good body, rightly tannic with a black cherry aftertaste.

TASTING NOTES: Aglianico is an ancient vine, probably originating in Greece and introduced in Italy around the 7th-6th century BC. There are no certainties about the
origins of the name, which could be traced back to the ancient city of Elea (Eleanico), on the Tyrrhenian coast of Campania, or be more simply a mispronunciation of the
word Hellenico (for its Greek origin). The original name (Elleanico or Hellenico) became Aglianico during the Aragonese domination in the 15th century, due to the double L
pronounced gli in Spanish phonetic usage.Aglianico Contado Riserva Di Majo Norante: the ancient culture of the vine-dressing man combined with modernity and the future.

DESCRIPTION: Di Majo Norante produces its wines exclusively from the 123 hectares of the ancient feud of the Marquis Norante di Santa Cristina. In Molise, wine has a
tradition that goes back to the Samnites and the Romans, who introduced the cultivation of the vine. The production methods are those handed down from one generation to
the next in the southern Apennines, always linked to the values of the peasant world. Di Majo Norante has sacrificed productivity and standardisation of taste in the constant
pursuit of quality and typicality, in the conviction that southern vines are better suited to the soil and climatic conditions of the Molise countryside. The predisposition to
select clones of indigenous southern vines through the study of their adaptability to the soil is at the origin of all Di Majo Norante wines. Grapes of ancient vines such as
Aglianico, Montepulciano, Sangiovese and Tintilia for the production of red wines, Falanghina and Greco for the production of white wines; Moscato reale for the sweet
passito. With regard to the cultivation of the grapes, the main aim is to maintain the biodiversity of the vineyards. Biodiversity is defined as the totality of all forms of life
present: plants, animals and micro-organisms. For this reason, the rules of organic farming have been followed for many years. All the vineyards are left with natural grassing
and spontaneous flowering to ensure the healthiness of the soil, guaranteeing the presence of the necessary micro-organisms and insects that are antagonists to many
parasites. Production is kept low to obtain the highest quality of grapes; thanks to the thinning out of the bunches, only the most beautiful, ripe and healthy ones reach the
harvest.

AGEING: The wine is aged for about three years, one of which in barriques and tonneaux.
