In a balanced battle, the two wrestle closely for the<br />upper hand. The wine impresses with its fascinatingly changeable personality and makes opening each bottle an exciting surprise.<br /><br />VINIFICATION<br />Separate vinification of the two varieties, partly spontaneous fermentation, eight-month ageing on the fine lees in wooden or steel barrels.<br /><br />SITUATION / SOIL<br />Höfl unterm Stein in Söll near Tramin is situated on a south-eastern slope at 480 to 550 m above sea level. Description: Intense straw yellow colour, fresh fine aroma reminiscent of yellow roses and nutmeg, some cloves and cinnamon, strong body, spicy, with lively acidity.<br />Ageing potential: 6-8 years.<br />Recommended food: As an aperitif, ideal companion to grilled fish, shellfish, Asian dishes and blue cheese.<br />Serving temperature: 10-12° C.<br />Grape variety: Gewürztraminer, trellis training with high plant density, approx. 5,500 vines/ha.<br />Sites: Selected sites at 450-550 m above sea level. The very old vines produce a wine of above-average quality, with concentrated but velvety tannins, juicy fruit and a robust body.<br />Grape varieties: Lagrein<br />Growing area/climate: vines more than 80 years old on warm, sandy alluvial soils in Gries near Bolzano, 250 metres above sea level.<br />Harvest: end of September to mid-October<br />Vinification: After traditional red wine fermentation in wooden barrels, the young wine matures for about one year in French barriques.<br />Characteristics: Colour: impenetrable garnet red.<br />Aroma: fruity of ripe cherries, floral of roses and violets, reminiscent of humus, beautiful chocolate tones<br />Flavour: powerful and harmonious with a velvety fullness, long-lasting and elegant<br />Goes well with: grilled or cooked dark meat, game dishes and ripe cheese<br />Alcohol: 14 % vol*<br />Residual sugar : 4,0 g/l*<br />* Depending on the vintage, the analytical values may vary slightly.<br />

TWC comprises single-varietal wines in perfection from a highly limited<br />production. <br /><br />The AMOS cuvée shows the terroir potential of the high Kurtatsch sites. AMOS is composed of the best hand-picked white grapes from the coolest vineyards between 600<br />and 900 metres above sea level.<br /><br />It is precisely this interplay of varieties and sites that makes AMOS so unique in character and style. In order to preserve the mountain freshness, barriques were not used.<br />The long fine yeast storage in large wood provides additional complexity. The neutral Burgundy varieties form the compact foundation (70%) Kerner and Sauvignon give the<br />wine its seductive bouquet of white peach, apricot, blossom and citrus fruit.
