LR 2012<br />'The creation of an exclusive wine, capable of delighting discerning customers and strengthening the reputation of Schreckbichl' was Luis Raifer's idea.After several years<br />and several experiments in the choice of varieties, LR was born. Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Sauvignon and Gewürztraminer, aged on the fine yeast and matured in wood,<br />merge into a cuvée with remarkable structure and elegance. All this combined in a unique packaging. The outer shell: Unique in elegance and sophistication.This year's<br />image in the bottle depicts the 'youthful Bacchus' and is attributed to the Caravaggio school around 1600. Bacchus reaches for the grape, the 'materia prima', without<br />which this unique wine would not exist. The grape and the wine are united in the bottle. In between are other dimensions, from the harvest to the fermentation process to<br />the ripening, and what else can resonate and stimulate beyond the wine.<br /><br />Description: Strong straw-yellow colour, a fruity hint of exotic scents. On the palate, the wine presents itself with great structure and character.Ageing potential: 8-10 years.<br />Serving temperature: 12-14°C.<br />Grape variety: Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Sauvignon and Gewürztraminer.<br />Vineyards: selected vineyards at an altitude of approx. 400-550 m above sea level.<br />Yield:35 hl/ha<br />Vinification: after a gentle pressing, the wine ferments and matures in oak barrels, followed by one year of bottle ageing. Grape variety: Cabernet Sauvignon<br />Denomination of Origin: Alto Adige DOC<br />Altitude: 220-350 metres above sea level<br />Orientation: south-southeast<br />Area: The vineyards are located around Magreid on a gentle slope between 220 and 350 metres above sea level, facing south-southeast. The white deep limestone gravel<br />soil has a high humus content.<br />Climate: The Mediterranean climate is characterised by warm summers and mild winters as well as the warm south wind Ora blowing from Lake Garda in the afternoon.<br />Vinification: The grapes of the LAVOT Cabernet Riserva are harvested by hand. After crushing, the must ferments in steel tanks with gentle maceration. Subsequent ageing<br />for 12 months in barrique barrels and a further year in bottle.<br />Colour: intense ruby red<br />Aroma: blackberry, blueberry, cherry, balsamic notes<br />Taste: Deep, dense, spicy tannins<br />Food recommendation: Game dishes; tagliata<br />Serving temperature: 16-18° C<br />Storage recommendation: cool at 10-13° C and min. 60% humidity.<br />

Réserve della Contessa - the feminine wine.<br /><br />Its secret is fineness and elegance, one almost wants to say noblesse. A white wine of delicate colour and delicate aromas, as if made to accompany festive hours.<br /><br />Grape varieties: Pinot Blanc 60 %, Chardonnay 30 %, Sauvignon Blanc 10 % (Terlaner).<br />Colour: strong yellow with greenish reflections.<br />Aroma and taste: fresh scent of apples, apricots and a hint of sage. Dense and elegant, with a lot of melting, long lasting.<br />Site and soil: Two thirds of the grapes come from Lieben Aich in Terlan and one third from Campan in Kaltern. In Terlan Lieben Aich we have a warm west-facing slope at<br />300 m above sea level, with water-permeable, sandy loam soil on porphyry weathered rock. Kaltern Campan is a cool, east-facing slope at 500 m above sea level. The soil is<br />a strong loamy limestone soil with rock deposits from ice-age glaciers.<br />Vinification: The destemmed grapes remained in the press for six hours for maceration to extract aroma and structure from the skins. Fermentation took place in wooden<br />barrels, partly spontaneously, with the grape's own yeasts. During the six months of ageing on the fine lees, the aroma and flavour were refined.<br />Serving temperature: 10 - 12 °C.<br />Goes well with: starters, fish and white meat.<br />

Mason - the sensitive companion.<br /><br />It nestles silkily against the skin, cherries, blackberries and roses linger for a long time, and the coveted Pinot Noir makes the mind sensual at the right time.<br /><br />Grape variety: Pinot Noir.<br />Colour: bright, rich ruby red.<br />Aroma and taste: Raspberries and cranberry fruit, some rose petals and liquorice, ripe in fruit and fresh in spice, fruity and delicate on the palate, velvety and at the same<br />time firm from the tip of the tongue to the finish.<br />Site and soil: Mazzon, called 'Mason' by us to avoid confusion with the larger site above Neumarkt. Four hectares are planted with Pinot Nero in this unique site: a south-<br />facing plateau at 400 - 450 m above sea level, sunny and constantly exposed to the wind. Ideal conditions for the tightly berried Pinot grapes. The soil is sandy loam and<br />interspersed with various stones: Dolomite, porphyry, gneiss and granite can be found from small grains to fist-sized stones.<br />Vinification: Each batch from the different parcels was vinified separately. The maceration took place in wooden vats, spontaneously with the grape's own yeasts. Maceration<br />lasted two weeks, with the marc cake being macerated once a day. The 12-month wooden barrel ageing took place in barriques, with only 10% new wood and the wine<br />remaining on the fine lees for the entire time. Only then were the individual parcels blended, selecting the best barrels from the highest parcel with the oldest vines for Mason<br />di Mason.<br />Serving temperature: 16 -18 °C.<br />Pairings: roasted and grilled (red) meats, game and matured soft cheeses.<br />
