Its rarity lies in the unique combination of grapes<br />from the classic terroir of Las Compuertas, in Luján de Cuyo, with the more recently discovered terroirs in the Valle de Uco: Gualtallary, Los Chacayes, Paraje Altamira and<br />Eugenio Bustos, all between 1,070 and 1,200 metres above sea level. The vines are between 20 and 90 years old.<br /><br />TASTING NOTES<br />A complex and layered expression, revealing aromas of red and black fruits, subtle hints of violets and delicate toasted notes. SOUTH TIROL DOC<br />LAGREIN RISERVA<br />VINEYARD KLOSTERANGER<br /><br />Our historic single vineyard: expressive, concentrated and straightforward.<br />IN THE VINEYARD<br />This Lagrein thrives at an altitude of 280 m in the middle of Gries. The historic vineyard is part of the monastery complex, where the vines stand on pure alluvial material from<br />the Talfer and a subsoil of Bolzano quartz porphyry. IN THE CELLAR<br />After fermentation and acid reduction in stainless steel, the wine is aged in new barrique barrels for 22 months, followed by harmonisation in enamelled steel tanks and<br />careful bottling after light filtration.<br />TASTING NOTES<br />The Klosteranger appears in deep garnet red and seduces with a bouquet of concentrated aromas. It is surprisingly lively and fruity on the nose with notes of coffee and<br />black berries as well as a hint of raspberries. On the palate, it convinces with grippy tannins, fresh acidity, delicate as well as elegant fullness and depth. Our single-vineyard<br />Lagrein is wonderfully complex, long-lasting and pampers the palate with a multi-layered structure. Intense rich fruity nose crammed with pure blackberry, cassis, cherry and plum aromas interwoven with notes of spice.<br />The palate full bodied and round, with a smooth velvety texture balanced by firm mouth filling tannins. The juicy black fruit flavours linger into the rich luscious finish.<br />Pairing suggestions<br />The rich black fruit flavours of Bin 27 are a perfect match for chocolate and berry fruit dishes. A chocolate fondant with strawberries makes a deliciously hedonistic<br />combination with Bin 27, the rich creamy chocolate and luscious ripe strawberries blending seductively with the blackcurrant and cherry fruitiness of the wine. Bin 27 is also<br />excellent served after a meal with bitter chocolate with a high cocoa content or a plate of chocolate brownies or truffles. Like all youthful red Ports, Bin 27 is an excellent<br />match for soft ripe cheeses and can be served on its own at the end of the meal or any other relaxed occasion in a generously proportioned wine glass.<br />Description<br />Although for connoisseurs and collectors Fonseca is synonymous with Vintage Port, to thousands of wine drinkers and Port lovers, the wine that springs to mind is Bin 27.<br />This rich and fruity reserve blend is sold all over the world and has a particularly loyal following in North America.<br />Fonseca Bin 27 was launched in Britain nearly 50 years ago, in 1972. At the time the market for Port was undergoing a profound change. Consumers were becoming more<br />knowledgeable and demanding in their choice of wine. No longer content with the simple young Ports that until then had accounted for much of consumption, they sought<br />more sophisticated and distinctive wines both to enjoy at home and when dining out.<br />

Naturally, the 2012 vintage has been declared a<br />Veuve Clicquot Vintage, becoming the House's 66th since its first vintage in 1810. The uniqueness of the Veuve Clicquot Vintage collection lies in the addition of wines aged<br />in large oak barrels, which bring strength and aromatic intensity. The predominance of Pinot Noir and a touch of wood bring structure and character, the hallmark of the<br />Veuve Clicquot style.<br /><br />Tasting notes<br />'On the palate, the attack is fresh and frank. Classification<br />South Tyrol DOC<br /><br />Growing region<br /><br />The grapes for this wine come from our best and oldest vineyards in Mazon and Girlan. These vineyards are particularly suitable due to microclimatic conditions as well as<br />the age of the vines and have proven themselves over decades. The main part of the grapes comes from Mazon, where we find deep clay and limestone soils. The second<br />part comes from our oldest vineyards in Girlan, where we find a moraine deposit on volcanic porphyry rock.<br />Vinification and ageing<br /><br />The grapes are harvested by hand and delivered in small containers. The must - 10% of which is vinified as whole grapes - is then gravity-fed into steel vats where<br />fermentation takes place (20-24 days). After malolactic fermentation, the wine is matured for 12 months in barriques and small wooden barrels (12 hl). This is followed by 8<br />months of ageing in large wooden barrels (70 hl). The wine is stored in the bottle for another 8 months.<br />Wine portrait<br /><br />Ruby red colour with light garnet nuances. Intense and complex aroma with hints of ripe fruit, sweet and sour cherry. The wine presents itself elegant and yet full-bodied with<br />an excellent acid structure and present tannin.
