The true Chianti Classico, therefore, without the addition of international grape varieties such as Cabernet or<br />Merlot, in order to maintain the authentic formula of the most famous of Italian wines while at the same time seeking maximum elegance.<br /><br />Tasting notes: the colour of this Chianti Classico is the ruby red of Sangioveto. The nose is fragrant, fresh with pleasant hints of red fruit, liquorice, currants and a light touch<br />of vanilla. The typical notes of Chianti Sangiovese dominate. SOUTH TIROL DOC<br />LAGREIN RISERVA<br />VINEYARD KLOSTERANGER<br /><br />Our historic single vineyard: expressive, concentrated and straightforward.<br />IN THE VINEYARD<br />This Lagrein thrives at an altitude of 280 m in the middle of Gries. The historic vineyard is part of the monastery complex, where the vines stand on pure alluvial material from<br />the Talfer and a subsoil of Bolzano quartz porphyry. IN THE CELLAR<br />After fermentation and acid reduction in stainless steel, the wine is aged in new barrique barrels for 22 months, followed by harmonisation in enamelled steel tanks and<br />careful bottling after light filtration.<br />TASTING NOTES<br />The Klosteranger appears in deep garnet red and seduces with a bouquet of concentrated aromas. It is surprisingly lively and fruity on the nose with notes of coffee and<br />black berries as well as a hint of raspberries. On the palate, it convinces with grippy tannins, fresh acidity, delicate as well as elegant fullness and depth. Our single-vineyard<br />Lagrein is wonderfully complex, long-lasting and pampers the palate with a multi-layered structure.
